Ila May Potts Holland
Ila May Potts Holland, 94, of Franklin, passed away Monday, October 24, 2011.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Potts and Sarah Hurst Potts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Luther Holland; brother, J.D. Potts; sisters, Annie Morgan, Maggie Hastings and Eddis Lovell; and a grandson, Jimmy Dynes. Ila May enjoyed gardening, crocheting and writing poems. She was a member of Cullasaja Assembly of God.
She is survived by five daughters, Otela Bolick and husband Bobby, Carol Ashe and husband Roy, Arbutus Bolick and husband Larry, Mary Sue Sanders and husband Ray, Alice Taylor and husband Perry; four sons, Keith Holland, Van Holland and wife Becky, Alvin Holland and wife Sharon and Philip Holland and wife Elaine all of Franklin; three sisters, Esther Seago of Longview, WA, Alice McFalls of Marysville, WA and Velma Estes of Commerce, GA; 22 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces nephews.
Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 27, at Cullasaja Assembly of God, with Rev. James Cannon and Rev. Larry Bolick officiating. Burial was in Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, at Macon Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Brian Holland, Kevin Holland, Hugh Holland, Joel Holland, Daryl Holland, Greg Bolick, Larry Bolick, Eric Bolick, David Holland, Bobby Sanders and Clinton Taylor.
